The Real Deal

On Wednesday night a third different driver emerged as the late model winner for day #3 of The Wild West Shootout.  On that night it was “The Real Deal, better know as Don O’Neal showed them all the shortest and fastest way around this fast 3/8 mile dirt track.

O’Neal started the A main on the pole and proceeded to drive away from the rest of the field. The only threat to O’Neal’s dominance was Shane Clanton.  Clanton drove around O’Neal after a restart and was able to hold off O’Neal for a few laps.  Unfortunately, Clanton clipped a big tire as he exited turn four, sending his late model head first into the outside retaining wall at the beginning of the front stretch, ending his night!

Finishing behind O’Neal Wednesday night was the winner of the first night of racing, Billy Moyer, Sr.  Rounding out the top five finishers are Ronny Hollingsworth, Clay Daly, and Terry Phillips.

With three out of the six nights of racing complete, there has been a different winner each night in the late model division!

In the modified side of the race program Wednesday, the race winner was Scott Ward.  Ward was able to hold off second placed finisher Johnny Scott.  Following Scott for third place was Jason Krohn, Brad Dierks, and Rich Loftus rounding out the top five finishers.

Even though the temperature rapidly fell as the sun went down Wednesday, the racing really heated up on day #3 of The Wild West Shootout.  The racing surface was smooth and fast, the competition was keen, and overall the evening was very exciting!

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
