As the Sun moves low in the horizon at the Auto Club speedway in Fontana, CA, pole qualifying has ended with a new track record of 38.20 seconds. That time works out to an average speed of 188.482 mph over the two mile race track! That new track record now belongs to Austin Dillon, who has driven the black No. 3 back into the spotlight and will be starting on the pole for Sunday’a Auto Club 400.
Starting on the front row along side of Dillon will be last week’s race winner, Kevin Harvick. Harvick’s qualifying time was 38.321 seconds, just 0.031 seconds slower than Dillon’s quick time.
Just as interesting as who is starting up front this week is who will be starting deep in the field. If you look at the starting order you will see that Jimmie Johnson will be starting from the 19th spot. Likewise, Kurt Busch will be starting the race from the 26th position and Dale Earnhardt,Jr. will be gassing it up from the 27th place!
Check out the starting order for the Auto Club 400.
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
