Hunter-Reay’s Tire Strategy Questionable

Ryan Hunter-Reay

RYAN HUNTER-REAY
No. 28 DHL HONDA

START-19th

FINISH-12th

CHAMPIONSHIP-17TH / 75 pts.

OF NOTE:

Led four laps (44-47) during the second pit stop cycle // Was also a biggest mover of the race after moving up from 19th to 12th.

“We had a great Indy GP on track. We passed a lot of cars today and had a great start. Tire strategy was a gamble today to say the least. We took our lumps when we had to go to the Primary tires, but all in all we were really quick today. Unfortunately in the end, we didn’t pick the right strategy with the last stop. Definitely should’ve finished in the top six or seven, but we will take the lesson and move forward to the 500.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
