Daytona International Speedway Road Course Recap: Competing on the Daytona Road Course for the first time in the Cup Series, Hamlin and the No. 11 FedEx team started Sunday’s race from the second position. Hamlin and the team had a strong run most of the day and adjusted throughout the race to accommodate the new track and the track changes throughout the race. Hamlin finished stage one in the 12th position and scored the stage win for stage two. Following a brief delay due to weather in the final stage, Hamlin and the team made their way to the front and settled in to the second position. With a late-race caution, Hamlin was able to battle with eventual winner Chase Elliott for the win, but came up just short and finished the race in the second position.

Dover International Speedway Preview: One of the few tracks where Hamlin has yet to score a victory in the Cup Series, Hamlin and the No. 11 FedEx Office team head in to the doubleheader weekend at Dover International Speedway looking to not only get Hamlin’s first win at the concrete oval, but two wins during the double header weekend. In his previous 28 Cup Series starts at the track, Hamlin has a career-best finish of second in 2018. Hamlin Conversation – Dover International Speedway:

Looking ahead to the doubleheader at Dover International Speedway. “Dover is a track that I like and one that I’ve been close to winning at, but just haven’t been able to put all the pieces together to get the win. The last time we were at Dover, we won the pole and led laps, but once we lost the lead and got out of the clean air, we kind of lost the handling of our FedEx Camry and couldn’t get back to the front and get the win. I have no doubt I have everything I need to get the win.  With Chris (Gabehart, crew chief) and this team bringing cars every week that can contend right off the truck, I think we’ll be in good shape this weekend to get two wins and continue the strong run we have going this season.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WOKING ON MY REDNECK!
