As of December 31, 2024, McLaren Racing has sole ownership of Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team following the final phase of its buyout from Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson, deepening its commitment to motorsport in North America.
McLaren bought a 75% stake in the IndyCar team in 2021, which had evolved from Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports to Arrow McLaren SP and most recently to Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team in 2023. Sam and Ric retained minority ownership from 2021-2024.
The team is grateful for the support and partnership Sam and Ric have given over the years, and they’ll always be good friends of the McLaren Racing family.
