Sebastien Bourdais competed in qualifying for the 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona today, piloting the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R to a second-place finish in the GTP session.
Cadillac Racing secured the entire front row to begin next weekend’s race and broke IMSA’s all-time qualifying record at the track, which was previously set at 1:33.398 in 2019.
Chip Ganassi Racing will be seeking its ninth all-time victory at the historic endurance event, and will look to extend their all-time series record with a seventh victory in overall competition.

Bourdais logged his best lap time in GTP qualifying on his fifth of six total laps, which ultimately fell just 0.071 seconds shy of the pole-sitter.
Bourdais and the No. 01 Cadillac team topped the timing sheets in the 25-minute practice session ahead of qualifying, producing an impressive fastest lap time of 1:33.236.
Cadillac Racing wrapped up the Roar Before the Rolex 24 weekend with the fastest overall lap in four of the six practice sessions.
CGR’s No. 01 Cadillac team will return to the track next on Thursday, January 25, where they will participate in three practice sessions.

Sebastien Bourdais: “It was obviously a great day for Cadillac; you always want to go P1-P2. For us, it was a solid effort, but we just didn’t quite get everything the way we wanted for that perfect run. But we have a really solid racecar and now we will just try to adjust things over the next week to get it the best we can for the race. We’ll try to execute as a team, with the drivers, and hope that we can come out of this with a watch.”
