- Zane Smith would start 13th on Friday night after his second place finish in his heat race. Smith struggled on takeoff speed, fighting the truck under braking and not having the left rear grip to move forward. Smith would ultimately finish 22nd in stage one. After some adjustments, the Tender Bison Chevrolet Silverado was able to drive up and finish 16th in stage two. In the final stage Smith was able to drive into the fifth position but a flat left front tire would force him to pit and restart on the tail end of the lead lap. Smith would be involved on the lap 153 wreck but would be able to finish with a 14th place finish.
- .Smith is currently fifth in the championship points standings, 154 points behind the leader. Smith is now mathematically locked into the playoffs with one race remaining before the playoffs begin.
“Really thought we were going to be good there, but we struggled on take off speed. The left rear was not there to start and when the bottom became the preferred lane it was hard to make up a lot of spots after losing that track position.
