“Unfortunately, we had a couple places that were strong tracks for the team last year that didn’t necessarily roll off strong for us this year. It’s no secret it’s been a bit of a struggle across the board, but specifically on our car as well. It was nice to have a clean session. Certainly, a lot of what the team did successfully last year transferred to first practice. We will see how the track evolves as the days get hotter and hotter. As the weekend goes on, that will be changing things for us. It’s nice to have the Capstone car in the top 10 to start the weekend and we will keep building on that.”
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES opened the holiday weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with a 45-minute practice session on Friday. Alexander Rossi led the charge for the Andretti Autosport stable posting the fourth-fastest time of the day followed by teammates James Hinchcliffe, Colton Herta and Ryan Hunter-Reay finishing in 10th, 14th and 15th respectively.
Saturday’s action kicks off at 9:05 a.m. ET with practice then qualifying to set the field for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio at 12 p.m. ET – both sessions will be streamed live on Peacock.
