Following the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Homestead, NASCAR announced it has suspended Chase Briscoe’s No. 98 crew chief Richard Boswell, car chief Nick Hutchins and engineer DJ Vanderley for four races, starting with Sunday’s Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway (the others: Talladega, Pocono and Indianapolis), due to a safety violation – rule 22.214.171.124.4.d. (Loss or separation of added ballast from the vehicle will result in a four Race suspension of the crew chief, car chief and head engineer.)
No further fines or point penalties will be assessed to Briscoe’s team. The crew members can return at Kentucky Speedway on Thurs., July 9.
SHR has not named replacements at the time of this report being filed.
Also, the following cars will drop to the rear to start tomorrow’s Xfinity race:
No. 8 – Driver change (Daniel Hemric)
No. 07 – Driver change (Carson Ware)
No. 02 – Back-up car, Driver change (JA Avila)
No. 7 – Back-up car
No. 52 – Back-up car
Additionally, Atlanta winner AJ Allmendinger will be added to the field and will start last in 38th.
Sunday’s event is a Dash4Cash race for drivers AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley and Daniel Hemric. The highest finisher will receive a $100,00 bonus courtesy of Xfinity.
