In 2018 William Byron will compete full-time for Hendrick Motorsports. In 2017 Byron competed in the XFINITY Series for JR Motorsports. He was crowned the 2017 XFINITY Series champion and 2017 Sunoco Rookie of the Year. Byron won his first XFINITY race at Iowa in 2017, and has four victories in the XFINITY series, in total. He earned Rookie of the Year in the Camping World Truck Series in 2016 while setting a rookie record for wins, seven. Byron is also the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion.
