Grosjean Pockets A Laguna Seca Top Ten

ROMAIN GROSJEAN
NO. 28 DHL HONDA

Completed his first season with Andretti Autosport

Recorded seven top-10 finishes in 2023

“Pretty good weekend. We tried a pretty bold strategy today starting on used reds and keeping a new set of reds for the end. A lot of people were on a four-stop strategy, we were on a three-stop. I think the three-stop would have worked well without the yellow in the middle. Nonetheless I’m really positive going into 2023 after Nashville, World Wide Technology Raceway and here at Laguna Seca.”

START–4th
FINISH–7th
CHAMPIONSHIP–13th (328 Pts)

The Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey marked the final race of the 2022 NTT INDYCAR season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday. Romain Grosjean in the No. 28 DHL Honda led the quartet of Andretti Autosport entries as he completed the 95-lap race with his best finish on a road course this season of seventh. Making his final start with Andretti Autosport, Alexander Rossi made a dashing start to move into the top two on the opening lap. Continuous battles with competition on track and with tire strategy, would see Rossi cross the finish line in the No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS / AutoNation for the last time in 10th. Two-time race winner at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Colton Herta, struggled to replicate those results for a third time. After making an error in qualifying, he would start 18th determined to move forward. Herta succeeded and brought the season to a close in 11th just behind teammate Rossi. Devlin DeFrancesco brought his rookie season in the No. 29 Jones Soda Honda to a close making positive progress. DeFrancesco would see as high as eighth before finishing five spots higher than he started in 15th.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING IN MY REDNECK!
