No. 20 Rheem/Watts/Opteon Toyota Camry News and Notes:
Hometown Track: Christopher Bell, from Norman, Oklahoma, will make his third NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) start at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) this weekend. Norman, Okla. is just over two hours way from TMS.
NCS at Texas: Bell made two NCS starts at TMS in 2020. His best finish came in the fall where he started 15th and finished third at the 1.5-mile speedway.
NXS Racing in the Lone Star State: Bell has made five prior starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) at Texas. In 2019, Bell found his way to victory lane in the fall after qualifying third and leading over half the laps. In addition to his win, Bell has earned two poles, three top-five and four top-10 finishes at Texas.
Texas Truck Success: Bell has five Truck Series starts at TMS and found his way to victory lane in 2017. In addition to the win, Bell has two top-five and three top-10 finishes at TMS.
Featured on the Car: Watts, a part of Watts Water Technologies and a major Rheem supplier, will be featured on Bell’s No. 20 Toyota Camry this weekend at Texas. Rheem Guests at Texas: Rheem will be hosting over 200 total guests this weekend at TMS. There will be guests on-site from Watts, INSCO Distributing, Rheem Water Heating Division Southwest Region plumbing contractors, Rheem National Retail group and Gemaire Distributors.
ROVAL Recap: Bell started fourth and struggled with rear grip throughout the race. The team made gains with adjustments and despite a pit road speeding penalty, a trip through the grass and missing the chicane, Bell was able to cross the finish line eighth at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
JGR at Texas: JGR has claimed nine NCS victories at TMS. In 124 combined starts the organization has tallied 34 top-five finishes, 58 top-10s and 2,189 laps led. The championship-winning organization has an average start of 14.6 an average finish of 14.5.
RACE INFO: The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway begins at 2:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 17, 2021. The race will be broadcast live on NBC, SiriusXM 90, and PRN Radio.
