TRUEX AT LAS VEGAS: Martin Truex Jr. is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 19 starts at the track, Truex has earned six top-five finishes, 10 top-10s and 299 laps led. The Mayetta, New Jersey native hasn’t finished worse than fourth in three Playoff races at Las Vegas, including a win in 2019.

ROUND OF 16 RECAP: Truex posted a solid effort in the Round of 16 with his win at Richmond Raceway and a 4.0-average finish in the three races. The No. 19 driver overcame a loose wheel at Darlington Raceway and finished fourth to open the round. The next week, Truex was penalized on the initial start of the race and rallied back to capture his third career victory at Richmond. Last week, he started on the pole and ran inside the top 15 all night at Bristol Motor Speedway before clawing his way to a seventh-place result.

1.5-MILE SUCCESS: Truex’s nine top-10 finishes in the last 10 races on 1.5-mile tracks are tied with Kyle Busch for the best in the series.

JGR AT LAS VEGAS: Joe Gibbs Racing owns three NASCAR Cup Series victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 84 combined starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval, the organization has racked up 20 top-five finishes, 40 top-10s and 752 laps led. Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth join Truex on the list of drivers who have driven JGR Camrys to victory lane at Las Vegas.

How do you view the upcoming round with three very different tracks?

“It’s one of those rounds where everybody is a little bit nervous about it because a lot can happen with a road course and Talladega. Obviously, I think everybody is looking at Vegas and circling that one. There’s going to be a lot of emphasis on winning there and a lot of importance on winning there. We’re no different in that perspective.”
