Notes & Quotes:—

  • Tyler Ankrum showed speed this past week as he finished first in his heat race which allowed him to start second in the 150-lap main event. Ankrum struggled to get the car turning through the center early on and finished fifth at the end of stage one. The team pitted at the end of that stage for a few adjustments, four tires and fuel and would restart sixth for stage two. After losing the track position early in the stage, Aknrum finished 23rd in stage two. Ankrum drove up as far as seventh in the final stage before some damage relegated him to a 17th place finish.
  • Ankrum is currently 13th in the championship points standings, 298 points behind the leader. With one race remaining before the playoffs, he sits 44 points behind the cutoff line.

“What a night. We got a heat race win there and our truck was really quick off the truck. I thought there were some guys that were a little quicker than us, but I thought if we stayed in the top 10, we could put ourselves in position at the end. We started off really free on exit and the guys kept working on it all night; shoutout to them for the fast truck and hard work. Was going to have a good finish there until we got moved by the 19 and cost us a good finish. We’ll move onto Watkins Glen and try to win and lock ourselves into the playoffs.”
