No. 19 Toyota Racing Toyota Supra News and Notes:
· JONES’ HOME TRACK: Atlanta native, Brandon Jones is excited about heading to his home track this weekend. This is always a special race for him and his Toyota team. This is Jones’ seventh start at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It has been a tough track for Jones in the past, but he has made major strides with a fourth-place finish in 2019 and an eighth-place finish in 2020. This is a track where communication between crew chief and driver is paramount and tire management is key to their strategy. The worn-out surface will present its share of challenges throughout the day. Jones will be back in the No. 19 Toyota Racing Toyota Supra and the team is focused on sticking to their strategy and putting their Supra in the best position to fight for the lead.
· JGR AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY: JGR has 53 total starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS), earning three wins, 17 top-five finishes, 29 top-10 finishes and five pole starting positions. From the Cockpit:
Brandon Jones: “This weekend we are headed to Atlanta Motor Speedway! I love going to Atlanta for a number of reasons, but mainly because it’s my home track and the fans are great. This is a unique track with several handling characteristics. You have to work with your crew chief the whole race because of its old worn-out surface. Tire management will be a big part of our strategy. The track gets intense and keeps you on edge the whole 163-laps. I have made major strides at Atlanta over my career, and it would be extremely special to be running up front in our Toyota Racing Supra fighting for a win at the end.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
