Following a quick first pit stop by the No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS crew, Alexander Rossi advanced nine positions from 13th to fourth heading into the second stint // Rossi’s No. 27 Honda will change out of the NAPA AUTO PARTS blue and yellow to AutoNation’s #DrivePink livery for tomorrow’s XPEL 375 // Behind the wheel of the No. 27 AutoNation / NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda, Rossi will see the green flag fly from 15th for Race 2 tomorrow.
“It was a decent day for us, but this is such a track-position race so starting 16th somewhere like here is always going to be difficult. I think we had an opportunity to be in the top five. On that first cycle you obviously want to go long and hope that the yellow comes, because you lose so much time during pit stops and the exchange of the two-stage pit limiter. So that first cycle worked out well for us. I think we had a top-six pace car, so it’s unfortunate that we fell short of that. We did make up one spot in the championship tonight, so we’ll see what we can do from 15th tomorrow.
