OF NOTE:

Got caught in dirty air pushing the No. 29 Genesys Honda into the second lane and spinning on Lap 160, resulting in contact in Turn 2 and heavy damage to the 29 car // As the crew makes repairs, the 29 car will switch from Genesys orange to the Capstone Green Energy livery // Set to start Race 2 on Sunday from the 21st position.

“We were struggling really bad with vibrations and we were just hanging on, trying to stay on the lead lap. I honestly didn’t know that Felix was running up there, I thought we were running for position. He came down, took the air away and we just had no grip. I got up into the grey stuff and that second lane is just undriveable. It’s really unfortunate. I feel gutted for the Genesys guys. It’s the Genesys 300 and we’re out of the race. We had a better car than that on our own. I think if we had been able to qualify, we would have started a lot higher and been running a lot better. But it’s the nature of this track at the minute, you just can’t go anywhere. Again, gutted for the guys – they’ve got to fix this thing and try to come back stronger tomorrow.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
