“Texas is always a cool event, especially when we get to race under the lights. I’ve had some great races there in the past so we are hoping for a strong weekend, especially considering the first race of the doubleheader weekend is the Genesys 300! It seems fitting to have the Genesys car in victory lane for that one and hopefully we’ll get to do it all again on Sunday when we debut the Capstone Green Energy car for the second race!”
- This weekend’s doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway will be the first two-race event since 2011 with the Genesys 300 on Saturday and the XPEL 375 on Sunday. It will also be the first time the INDYCAR SERIES race at TMS will be held in May, with the previous 32 races running in June, following the Indy 500.
- Andretti Autosport has 82 starts at Texas Motor Speedway with one win (Kanaan-2004), two poles (Franchitti-2004, Munoz-2016), 14 podiums and over 600 laps led.
Both James Hinchcliffe and Alexander Rossi will showcase split liveries during this weekend’s doubleheader. Hinchcliffe will headline the Genesys 300 on Saturday sporting the Genesys orange livery and will debut the Capstone Green Energy colors for Sunday’s XPEL 375. Rossi will be back in the NAPA AUTO PARTS yellow and blue for Saturday’s night race and will switch to the AutoNation #DrivePink livery to close out the weekend Sunday.
Three of the four current Andretti Autosport drivers have led laps at Texas Motor Speedway: Hinchcliffe (196), Hunter-Reay (136), Rossi (10).
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
