“After getting taken out in the first lap of our season opener at Barber, I’m really looking forward to getting my season started at St. Pete. This is a tremendous opportunity for us. My home race, the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, is one of my favorites on the schedule. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in attendance – my family and friends, the fans and most importantly DHL and AutoNation. We’re looking forward to representing them well on track. I’m really looking forward to this weekend and thankfully it’s only a few days after Barber, so we can rebound, get back to work and head into the season.”
- After the 2020 season opener in St. Pete was moved to the season finale due to the pandemic, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES is back on the Streets of St. Petersburg for the 17th straight year.
- The 1.8-mile street course, boasting 14 turns, will follow in the footsteps of last weekend’s season opener at Barber Motorsports Park and will allow fans to enjoy the on-track action in-person.
- With 14 starts on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Ryan Hunter-Reay has come close to a win on the iconic street course many times with four podium-finishes and just missing out on the top step of the podium twice with two second-place finishes (2009, 2014).
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
