“I’m looking forward to finally getting back on track this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park for the season opener. We came out of the 2020 season with a lot of momentum and we made even more progress over the offseason, so we’re just ready to get out there and show what we can do. I’m excited to have such a great partner in Gainbridge and I’m hopeful we can kick off the season with a strong result for the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda at Barber.”
After missing out on running the 2020 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama due to pandemic restrictions along with the rest of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES field, Andretti Autosport is back in 2021 for their 11th season competing at Barber Motorsports Park.
Coming into the weekend, Andretti Autosport has 38 starts at Barber Motorsports Park including two wins, one pole, and four podiums.
Gainbridge and Colton Herta will kick off the season together for the first time at Barber Motorsports Park. Although Herta only has one start in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES at Barber, he led all 35 laps from the pole en route to an Indy Lights victory in 2017.
