On NASCAR Xfinity Series Debut:
“I’m so pumped to have a chance to make my Xfinity Series debut in the No. 54 Monster Energy Camry this weekend at Daytona. It’s awesome to be back at Daytona and I love road course racing because it reminds me of my karting days. I have a great team to help prepare me and I know (crew chief) Chris Gayle’s experience will be a huge advantage for me. I’m just going to learn as much as I can and hopefully, we can put together a great run. I’m ready to go.”

Chris Gayle, Crew Chief of the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Supra

“I am really looking forward to working with Ty Gibbs in his Xfinity debut. I have a long history at JGR, even working with Ty’s dad Coy in the early 2000’s, so it’s very cool to see some of the similarities in their personalities and some of the differences. Ty has been very competitive and won often and in impressive fashion in the early part of his career. I expect the same to continue in the Xfinity series, it’s going to be very fun to watch and I am extremely grateful to be a small part in helping him achieve new firsts and helping him grow as a driver in this sport.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
