No. 19 Menards/Barracuda Toyota Supra News and Notes:
- JONES AT THE DAYTONA ROAD COURSE: Brandon Jones and the 19 Menards team return to the historic Daytona International Speedway this weekend, but this time for the road course. Last year Jones posted an impressive second place finish on the high-banked tri-oval/infield road course with a chicane at the exit of turn 14 that created for some exciting racing. It also provides another passing zone on the 14-turn, 3.57-mile layout on the storied Daytona Road Course.
- BARRACUDA PUMPS: This weekend we have a new partner on our Menards Supra and we will proudly display Barracuda Pumps on the hood. They build high quality pumps. With a combined 150 years of pump industry experience every product is built using cutting edge innovative technology & high-quality components. From the Cockpit:
Brandon Jones: “The Daytona Superspeedway didn’t provide the finish we were looking for, but we came away with a lot of positives to press ahead. We won Stage 1 and were fighting for more stage points when we were caught up in a wreck. Our Menards team can’t wait to get back to Daytona, but this time for the road course. I am looking forward to running the Daytona Road Course this weekend to show everyone what this 19 team is capable of. We had a second-place finish there last year and it gave us a lot to build on. Jeff (Meendering) and I have been studying our notes from last year, dedicated several hours in the TRD simulator and have been able to incorporate some go- karts to help get the fundamentals of a road course down. Track position and restarts are going to be critical so this will be a big part of our strategy as well as working on passing and not making mistakes. We will have Barracuda Pumps on our Supra for the first time and we are focused on getting the best results.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
