Could Alfredo Land At FRM In ’21?

Anthony Alfredo

Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern reports that Anthony Alfredo is in discussions with Front Row Motorsports about joining the next next season.

The seat of the No. 38 car is vacant following John Hunter Nemechek’s decision to move to the Truck Series to race for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Alfredo ran a partial Xfinity schedule for Richard Childress Racing in 2020. In 19 races he had 2 top 5s and 9 top 10s.

  1. Not too surprised by these links of Alfredo going to the 38 at FRM despite competing 1/2 a season in the Trucks & Xfinity. Some of his sponsors does tie with John Hunter Nemechek with Death Wish Coffee who sponsored the 38 this year. And DWC sponsored Alfredo a few races at Xfinity level this year. Seems FRM & DWC wants to stay on together and use Alfredo as a bait to replace JHN there. It may be too much of a step as some viewed. But at least he is starting all over again in a low budget team or a team that can give him basic expectations. Alfredo can go from there towards higher targets once he reaches his confidence year by year. He is not the only person to do so. Remember Ryan Blaney stepped to Cup time part-time with a midfield team at Wood Brothers from the Truck Series. And has never done a full Xfinity season beforehand. Ryan since impressed while on a part-time basis in 2015 & earned his way to superstar status ever since now at Team Penske. Why not Alfredo do the same and a midfield team maybe look at him with interest should he become Michael McDowell’s team-mate & hit the same level as JHN in 2021 & even better so in 2022.
