What To Watch For:
The 2020 season marks the fourth year Las Vegas Motor Speedway has hosted the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Playoff’s second race (2016-2018, 2020).
Since the postseason inception into the series in 2016, only two tracks have hosted the second race of the Gander Trucks Playoffs – Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (2019).
A total of four different drivers have won the second race in the Gander Trucks Playoffs – Tyler Reddick (2016 at Las Vegas), Ben Rhodes (2017 at Las Vegas), Grant Enfinger (2018 at Las Vegas) and Brett Moffitt (2019 at CTMP). Reddick is the only non-Playoff driver to win the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Playoff’s second race – he was ranked ninth in points at the time of the win.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway has hosted 26 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series races dating back to inaugural event on November 3, 1996 – the first NASCAR national series event at the track. The first Gander Trucks race at Las Vegas was won by two-time series champion Jack Sprague driving a Chevrolet for NASCAR Hall of Famer Rick Hendrick.
The 26 Gander Truck races at Las Vegas have produced 20 different poles winners and 22 different race winners.
Mike Skinner and Jack Sprague lead the series in poles at Las Vegas with three each.
Kyle Busch leads the series in wins at Las Vegas with three victories (2018, 2019, 2020).
Four former NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Las Vegas winners are entered this weekend – Johnny Sauter (2009), Ben Rhodes (2017), Grant Enfinger (2018) and Austin Hill (2019).
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
