Riley Herbst

No. 18 Monster Energy Toyota Supra News and Notes:

2020 NASCAR XFINITY SERIES PLAYOFFS: Riley Herbst has been very impressive so far in his rookie season, locked into the Xfinity Series playoffs early and focused on being the spoiler in the 2020 championship.

HERBST AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Las Vegas is Herbst’s hometown and he is very excited to attack the Round of 12 in front of family and friends. They are coming off their 16th top-10 finish of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway and know they have some loose ends, but crew chief Dave Rogers will keep the Monster Energy team focused on the mission to advance to the next round. This will be his third start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Both previous races on the 1.5-mile tri-oval in the desert were very strong runs, posting two ninth- place finishes.

JGR AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: JGR has 59 total starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the NXS, earning two wins, 18 top-five finishes, 32 top-10 finishes and five pole-starting positions. The team has led 926 laps, completed 11,194 of 11,873 attempted laps (94.3%) and earned an average start of 10.7 and an average finish of 12.9. Kyle Busch has both wins for JGR in 2016 and 2019.

RACE INFO: Alsco 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. PT. Watch and listen live on NBCSN, SiriusXM Channel 90 and PRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Riley Herbst: ”It’s perfect to be heading to my home track locked into the playoffs, but we still have work to do. After Bristol we realize we need to be better on pit road and I need to be better behind the wheel and not make the mental mistakes. Bristol was a good wake-up call as we head to the Playoffs. I’m going home, so maybe we can get some home luck next week and cash in. I’ve have had two ninth place finishes on the mile and a half speedway and I plan on improving that stat. We have a lot to work with, draw from Rogers’ experience, a notebook and extra time in the TRD Simulator. Our 18 Monster Energy team would love to get a win and advance to the next round. We might be a rookie team, but we definitely have all the tools to be the dark horse and be the spoiler in this championship run.”
