With just a seven races left in the 2020 race season, there are numerous questions that are still left unanswered! One of two hot topics surrounds the question of where will Bubba land in 2021? Included in that question is the involvement of Denny Hamlin, with or without Michael Jordon’s assistance. Here is the latest information out of the garage as reported by Fox Sports Bob Pockrass this weekend.
Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass, speaking on Race Hub says rumors continue to point to Bubba Wallace going to a new team, formed in part by Denny Hamlin.
How the deal would work
Hamlin would get approval from NASCAR to own the team (an option that has not been allowed under previous NASCAR interpretations of the four car team limit)
Hamlin would form a new team (with our without the involvement of Michael Jordan).
The Germain Racing charter would be purchased.
The new team would use cars from Leavine Family Racing, which will cease to operate at the end of the season.
Toyota would provide increased technical support.
Stay tuned for more as the leaks continue to flow from the garage area!
