No. 19 Auto-Owners Insurance Toyota Camry News and Notes
TRUEX AT INDIANAPOLIS: Martin Truex Jr. has one top-five finish and three top-10s in NASCAR Cup Series competition at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He earned a career-best fourth-place finish at the track in 2015 and followed that up with an eighth-place result in 2016. Since then, an accident while racing for the lead in 2017, a mechanical failure early in the race in 2018 and damage on pit road in the opening 15 laps of last year’s race have thwarted promising days for the No. 19 driver.
POCONO RECAP: The No. 19 team secured a pair of top-10 finishes in last weekend’s doubleheader at Pocono Raceway. Truex started 11th and finished sixth in Saturday’s race and backed that up with a 10th-place run on Sunday afternoon. The Mayetta, New Jersey native managed to score stage points in three of the four stages during the unprecedented weekend for the Cup Series.
AUTO-OWNERS: Auto-Owners Insurance will be featured as primary sponsor of Truex’s No. 19 Camry for Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Lansing, Michigan-based company offers multiple lines of insurance, including life, home, auto and business to customers in 26 states. In their first season with Joe Gibbs Racing, Auto-Owners was on board for monumental moments like Truex’s first victory for the team at Richmond in April, his 500th career start at Michigan in August and the No. 19 team’s dominant Martinsville win that propelled them to a Championship 4 appearance.
RED, WHITE, AND BLUE: Truex’s No. 19 Auto-Owners Insurance Camry will feature a red, white, and blue design for Sunday’s race to honor the United States military service members and veterans on Fourth of July weekend.
JGR AT INDIANAPOLIS: Joe Gibbs Racing owns five NASCAR Cup Series victories at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 67 combined starts at the 2.5-mile track, the organization has tallied 22 top-five finishes, 35 top-10s, five pole awards and 697 laps led. NASCAR Cup Series champions Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart have all driven JGR entries to victory lane at the Brickyard.
TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway begins Sunday, July 5, at 4 p.m. ET on NBC, IMS Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

Talk about your expectations for racing at Indianapolis this weekend…
“I expect Indy to be pretty similar to what we saw at Pocono where strategy and track position are very important. With this aero package and the long straightaways, you really have to be able to carry a lot of momentum, so it will be interesting to see how teams approach their cars – whether you’re trimmed out more or putting on some extra downforce because of how hot it is going to be. Either way, track position is going to be crucial like we saw last week, so you really have to set yourself up for that final stage to put yourself in position for a good finish.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
