No. 19 SiriusXM Toyota Camry News and Notes
TRUEX AT MARTINSVILLE: Martin Truex Jr. has one win, six top-five finishes and 12 top-10s in 28 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway. Fortunately for Truex, his win at the .526-mile track came in the series’ most recent visit last November. That day, he started third and led a Martinsville-record 464 laps on the way to victory lane. It was his most recent victory and solidified his spot in the Championship 4 race last season. Overall, the Mayetta, New Jersey native has racked up five top-five finishes in his past six Martinsville races. He is also a former pole winner at Martinsville and qualified third or better in seven of the past 10 races at the track.
ATLANTA RECAP: After starting 11th, Truex raced his way to a pair of stage wins on Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway before ultimately finishing third. The stage victories were the first of the season for the No. 19 driver and helped move him to fifth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
STRONG IN THE STAGES: Truex ranks second in stage points through the season’s first 10 races. His 112 stage points trail only Chase Elliott in that category.
POINTING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION: Truex has scored the most points in two of the past four races. Truex’s 56 points during the Coca-Cola 600 and 54 points scored Sunday in Atlanta were tops in each race.
LOOP RANKINGS: According to NASCAR’s Loop Data, Truex holds top-five rankings in multiple categories, including fastest drivers late in a run (first), fastest on restarts (second), green flag speed (second), percentage of laps run on the lead lap (third), fastest laps run (fourth), fastest drivers early in a run (fifth) and speed by segment (fifth).

Talk about your outlook going to Martinsville on Wednesday night…
“Martinsville has been a good track for us the past few seasons, and winning the last race there feels great, but it doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s a different rules package and lower downforce this time around, and we’ll have to go there and have something that will work good off the trailer. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m definitely excited about it and looking forward to a night race at Martinsville.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
