No. 19 Auto-Owners Insurance Toyota Camry News and Notes
TRUEX AT ATLANTA: Martin Truex Jr. owns four top-five finishes and nine top-10s in 21 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has finished eighth or better in seven of his last eight starts at the 1.54-mile quad-oval dating back to 2012. The Mayetta, New Jersey native has earned two consecutive top-five finishes at the track, including a runner-up finish last spring when he chased down eventual race winner Brad Keselowski in the closing laps before ultimately running out of time to make the pass for the lead.
BRISTOL RECAP: Last Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway, Truex finished 20th after being collected in a late-race accident. The No. 19 driver started fifth and worked his way as high as second early in the race before a loose handling condition dropped him out of the top 10. In the final 100 laps, he rallied his way back inside the top five before contact from behind on a late restart sent his Camry spinning.
SINCE THE RETURN: Truex has climbed from 15th to sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings since the series’ return to racing on May 17. With four top-10 finishes in five races, the No. 19 team has accumulated the third-most points over the recent five-race stretch.
AUTO-OWNERS: Auto-Owners Insurance will be featured as primary sponsor of Truex’s No. 19 Camry for Sunday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Lansing, Michigan-based company offers multiple lines of insurance, including life, home, auto and business to customers in 26 states. In their first season with Joe Gibbs Racing, Auto-Owners was on board for monumental moments like Truex’s first victory for the team at Richmond in April, his 500th career start at Michigan in August and the No. 19 team’s dominant Martinsville win that propelled them to a Championship 4 appearance.
JGR AT ATLANTA: Joe Gibbs Racing has recorded 11 NASCAR Cup Series victories at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In 107 combined starts at the track, the organization has tallied 34 top-five finishes, 49 top-10s, four pole awards and led 2,601 laps. Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart have all raced JGR entries to victory lane at the Hampton, Georgia facility.
TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway begins Sunday, June 7, at 3 p.m. ET on FOX, PRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

Talk about going to Atlanta in June versus the track’s regular early-season date…
“Atlanta is always a fun place to race because of the surface and how worn out it is. It has been a few years since we’ve raced there when it’s really hot to bring out just how slick the track can get, so that will be a bit of a challenge going in with no practice. I’m looking forward to it. I feel pretty good about how we have ran on the bigger tracks where handling comes into play. We need a little bit of speed overall, but we’ve been able to run pretty well at tracks where the surface is slicker, so I feel confident about the car we’ll unload and how we’ll run on Sunday.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
