Brandon Jones Wants To Keep The Mojo Rolling

Brandon Jones

No. 19 Menards/Turtle Wax Toyota Supra News and Notes:

·       IN THE SPOTLIGHT:   The No. 19 team didn’t have the finish they wanted last weekend at Auto Club Speedway, but they came away with several very strong positives. Brandon Jones had plenty of speed and earned his first pole of the season, swept Stages 1 and 2 and led a race-high 73 laps.  Phoenix Raceway is the last race in the NASCAR Goes West swing and the first short track of the season.  The precision one-mile oval presents its challenges, but the 19 team feels confident and is looking forward to the challenge and putting their Menards/Turtle Wax Toyota Supra in victory lane. This is also the track where the 2020 Xfinity Series Champion will be crowned, so this is a great test for the finale and an opportunity to build some strong notes.

·       JGR AT PHOENIX: JGR has 89 total starts at Phoenix Raceway in the NXS, earning 12 wins, 38 top-five finishes, 61 top-10 finishes and 17 pole-starting positions. The team has led 2,812 laps, completed 16,956 of 17,745 attempted laps (95.6%) and earned an average start of 8.3 and an average finish of 9.7. Kyle Busch has earned nine of the team’s 12 wins with Joey Logano earning one win for the team in 2012, and Christopher Bell won in 2018 and 2019.

·       RACE INFO: The LS Tractor 200 at Phoenix Raceway is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. MST. Watch and listen live on FS1, SiriusXM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Brandon Jones: “Our number 19 team is coming off of three very strong races to start the season. After winning the pole and sweeping the first two stages last week, it gave me the confidence I need to carry into Phoenix. As I look at data and notes from last year, I have already picked up on several areas I can improve on before getting on track activity. It will be a very important weekend to learn since this is also the track that will hold the title to the XFINITY championship. Phoenix Raceway is extremely technical and can trick you into overdriving the track. We are excited that Menard’s and Turtle Wax are back on our Supra and I feel we have the momentum to get them to victory lane.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
