ThorSport Racing has made 23 starts at Eldora Speedway. The Sandusky, Ohio-based team’s success includes two wins, Matt Crafton in 2017 and Chase Briscoe in 2018, one pole award 2018, Ben Rhodes, six top-five and 14 top-10 finishes at the track.
Johnny Sauter will make his seventh NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series start at Eldora Speedway in the No. 13 Tenda Ford F-150 truck Thursday, Aug. 1. He started 29th and finished 16th in last year’s Dirt Derby at the track.
In addition to his win at Dover International Speedway on May 3, Sauter has three top-five and seven top-10 finishes, along with 76 laps led in 13 series starts this season.
Chase Briscoe returns to ThorSport Racing looking to defend his 2018 Eldora Dirt Derby victory.
Briscoe has made two Gander Trucks starts at Eldora. In addition to his win last year, he finished third in 2017 while racing for Brad Keselowski Racing.
In six Gander Trucks, starts at Eldora Speedway, Matt Crafton has two top five’s and six top-10 finishes. He finished fourth in last year’s race at the track after starting fourth.
Crafton holds the record for consecutive starts (444) in the Gander Trucks. Among his success in the past 19 seasons, the two-time champion has earned 15 poles, and led 2,559 laps en route to 14 wins, 115 top-five and 267 top-10 finishes.
Grant Enfinger will make his third start at Eldora Speedway in Thursday night’s seventh annual Eldora Dirt Derby. In two previous starts, the Champion Power Equipment driver has led one lap en route to a track-best start of ninth (2018) and a track-best finish of second (2018). In 2018, Enfinger came up 0.38 seconds short of the win in a last-lap, side-by-side battle to the checkers with teammate, Chase Briscoe.
With only two races remaining to lock yourself in to the 2019 Playoffs, Enfinger, who is currently leading the driver points standings, with a 34-point lead, is currently in on points – the Regular Season Champion is guaranteed a spot in the Playoffs.
Ben Rhodes will enter his No. 99 Havoline Ford F-150 in Thursday’s Eldora Dirt Derby looking for his first Gander Trucks Series win at the track. He has tallied a pole (2018) and a track-best finish, 23rd in 2016.
Rhodes’ 2019 season entails five top-five and nine top-10 finishes including 72 laps led.
