Rossi Grabs Second IndyCar Victory Of ’19

For the second time this season, NAPA Racing driver Alexander Rossi drove his No. 27 machine to victory lane. Starting today’s REV Group Grand Prix at Road America from the second position, Rossi charged through 55 laps to take the twin checkers.

Today’s win marks the seventh-career win for the 27 year old. Previous wins came at Long Beach (2018, 2019), Mid-Ohio (2018) and Pocono (2018) along with victories at Watkins Glen (2017) and the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 (2016).

Rossi collected four wins and eight podiums in 2018 on his way to a second-place finish in the NTT IndyCar Series championship. Rossi finished the 2017 season sitting seventh in the driver standings and 11th the year prior, collecting Rookie of the Year honors for both the Indianapolis 500 and 2016 season. 

This is the 64th win for Andretti Autosport in the NTT  IndyCar Series. Since 2003, Andretti Autosport has scored four series titles (‘04/Kanaan, ‘05/Wheldon, ‘07/Franchitti and ‘12/Hunter-Reay) and six Indianapolis 500 wins (‘05/Wheldon, ‘07/Franchitti, ‘14/Hunter-Reay, ‘16/Rossi, and ’17/Sato).

Andretti Autosport has four full-time entries in the NTT IndyCar Series, with Rossi, Zach Veach  (No. 26 Gainbridge Honda), Ryan Hunter-Reay (No. 28 DHL Honda) and Marco Andretti (No. 98 U.S. Concrete / Curb Honda).
