In the end it was Alexander Rossi taking the top spot for the team, but only after teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay collected the night’s most laps led. The leader board saw five American drivers in the top five at night’s end, including Rossi and Hunter-Reay.

“We couldn’t pass on track tonight, but the 98 team did everything else right. Our strategy was there, the car balance was good – I just wish we had started further forward. This is a track position race; the car was good enough to compete but we just couldn’t get the position.”

The teams now depart Texas and head home for the first weekend off since early May. The NTT IndyCar Series returns to action June 23 with the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America, live on NBC.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
