ThorSport Racing Rolls Into Texas

  • The Triple Truck Challenge officially kicks off this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). The Triple Truck Challenge, or “The Trip,” is a new three-race competition for the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series taking place at Texas Motor Speedway (June 7), Iowa Speedway (June 15) and World Wide Technology Raceway (June 22).
  • ThorSport Racing has made 95 starts at TMS. The Sandusky, Ohio-based team’s success includes 240 laps led en route to four wins (Matt Crafton – 2015, 2014; Johnny Sauter – Nov. 2012 and June 2012), 28 top-five and 51 top-10 finishes, six poles,
  • Ford has three Gander Outdoors Truck Series wins at TMS – 2000 Greg Biffle, 1998 Tony Raines, 1997 Kenny Irwin Jr.
  • Grant Enfinger will be making his sixth Gander Outdoors Truck Series start in the No. 98 Protect the Harvest/Curb Records Ford F-150 at TMS on Friday June 7 in the 400. He scored his highest start, first, and highest finish, fourth this past March at the track.
  • Enfinger continues to lead the Gander Trucks driver points standings, with a 15 point lead over second place, heading into the ninth race of the season at TMS. In the first eight races of 2019, the ThorSport Racing driver has an average finish of 5.9, and has only one finish outside the top-10 (Las Vegas).
Johnny Sauter
  • Of Johnny Sauter’s seven career poles, four of them have come from Texas (2018, 2016, 2013, 2009). It’ll be his 23rd start at TMS, led 368 laps, registered 11 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes.
  • In addition to his win at Dover International Speedway on May 3, Sauter has 3 top-five and five top-10 finishes, along 72 laps led in eight starts this season.
Ben Rhodes
  • Ben Rhodes will make his eighth Gander Trucks appearance this weekend at TMS and he’ll be looking to put his Ford F-150 in Victory Lane for the first time. His highest finish at the track, second, was in 2018, and his highest start, seventh, in 2017. He averages an 11th-place finish and 10.1-place start at Texas.
  • Rhodes has four top-five and six top-10 finishes this season in addition to 52 laps led.
  • In 37 Gander Trucks starts at Texas, Matt Crafton has led 429 laps en route to two wins (2015, 2014), 15 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes, three poles (2015, 2010, 2009) and has completed 5674/5815 laps at the track, averaging an 8.9 finish.
Matt Crafton & Brett Moffitt
  • Crafton holds the record for consecutive starts (438) in the Gander Truck Series. Among his success in the past 19 seasons, the two-time champion has earned 15 poles, and led 2,544 laps en route to 14 wins, 114 top-five and 262 top-10 finishes.
