- The complexion of the race changed for Keselowski following the restart on lap 47. He was running third but got shuffled out of line, falling to 13th position. Keselowski was working his way back thru the pack on lap 57 at the time of the accident, which ended his afternoon.
- The race was hampered by persistent rain and mist. The event was stopped on laps 9 and 43 for rain. Following the multiple car accident, a third rain shower soaked the speedway on lap 59, forcing NASCAR officials to halt the race for good.
