Vinnie Miller, driver of the No. 01 JAS Expedited Trucking Chevrolet Camaro for team JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, finished in 31st place in Sunday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Iowa 250 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway after engine issues ended his day early.
Miller started the race in 36th place but was quickly able to gain positions. Miller had raced his way into the top-25 before his engine expired 45 laps short of the finish.
“Iowa started off as a strong weekend with a decent practice day,” said Miller. “Things quickly went downhill with a bad qualifying run. We were really tight off the corner and ended up 36th for the start. It was probably one of my worst qualifying efforts of the year. Things started to look brighter when I gained 10 positions in the first stage. We were able to stay in that spot pretty consistently until around lap 200. We stalled the car on a pit stop and it wouldn’t re-fire. The team had to push me behind pit road to get it started. Unfortunately, we only were able to make about 10 more laps before the engine expired. I love Iowa, though, and I’m ready to be back there in a few weeks and hopefully bring home a better finish for this No. 01 JAS Expedited Trucking team. I can’t thank the guys on this team enough for their support. We’ll be back at it in two weeks at Chicagoland.”
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will take a one-week break before heading to Chicagoland Speedway for the Overton’s 300 on June 30th, 2018.
