The entire ThorSport Racing organization will welcome members of the 436th Airlift Wing to the “Monster Mile” on JEGS 200 race day, Friday, May 4. Home to approximately 3,323 active duty airmen, the unit, known as the “Eagle Wing” and housed at nearby-Dover Air Force Base, flies hundreds of missions throughout the world and provides 25 percent of the Nation’s strategic airlift capability, projecting global reach to over 100 countries around the world. The team is proud to host 20 airmen stationed at the base, giving them a special race day experience in honor and thanks for their continued service and dedication the United States of America.

Friday’s JEGS 200 is one of 15 different racing venues on the 2018, 23-race schedule, that Ford-powered F-150’s have found victory lane. In 18 races at the “Monster Mile,” Ford Performance is credited with three wins, including the tracks inaugural Truck Series event: Kurt Busch (2000), Mark Martin (2006), and Tyler Reddick (2015). Additionally, Ford has five poles at the 1-mile concrete oval: Kurt Busch (2000), Rick Crawford (2002), Carl Edwards (2004), Ryan Blaney (2015), and Chase Briscoe (2017).

ThorSport Racing has made 39 starts with 16 different drivers (Terry Cook, Matt Crafton, Lance Hooper, Tracy Hines, Kerry Earnhardt, Willie Allen, Shelby Howard, Johnny Sauter, Dakota Armstrong, Todd Bodine, Jeb Burton, Cameron Hayley, Ben Rhodes, Rico Abreu, Cody Coughlin, Grant Enfinger at Dover International Speedway since September 22, 2000. The Sandusky, Ohio-based team’s success includes 269 laps led, has a track-best start of second (Crafton, 2014), one win (Crafton, 2016), nine top-five and 16 top-10 finishes.
Driver for Autism
ThorSport Racing’s quartet of drivers will be showing their support for Autism Delaware by displaying a special Autism Awareness decal on our Ford F-150’s during the JEGS 200 race weekend at Dover International Speedway. Autism Delaware, a leader in the First State on autism awareness since its founding in 1998, is working to raise funds and awareness during the AAA 400 Drive for Autism Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the Monster Mile on Sunday.

News and Notes:
  • This Week’s No. 98 Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150… The No. 98 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 42 for Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) JEGS 200 at Dover International Speedway. This is the same chassis Grant Enfinger piloted to a ninth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway, earlier this season.
  • The Down Low on Dover… Grant Enfinger made his track debut at the “Monster Mile” in 2017 with ThorSport Racing. The Curb Records driver started 12th, and finished third.
  • Off Weekend Fun… During a five-week hiatus from NCWTS competition, Enfinger and wife, Michelle, spent some time at Linville Falls, about 30 minutes from Boone, NC, camping and fishing.
  • Race Rewind – Martinsville… The ThorSport Racing driver started third, finished third in Stage 1, and eighth in Stage 2, and finished fourth. The top-five result was his second consecutive top-five finish.
  • 2018 Stats… In four starts this season, Enfinger has led six laps en route to two top-five and four top-10 finishes. The ThorSport Racing driver has a season-best start of third (Martinsville), and a season-best finish of fourth (Las Vegas and Martinsville).
  • Truck Series Stats… Enfinger has 41 career NCWTS starts to his credit. His success includes 97 laps led en route to one pole (Daytona, 2016), one win (Talladega, 2016), 13 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes.
  • Catch Grant at Dover… Enfinger will join his ThorSport Racing teammates for the NCWTS autograph session Friday, May 4, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. ET at the Delaware Office of Highway Safety Display in the Midway, and the Ford Performance Stage in the Midway from 11:45-12 p.m. ET.

“We had a really strong run last year at Dover, and I can’t wait to get back there. It’s a tough, high-banked, fast-paced mile that demands respect as a driver, and requires some finesse. Some drivers have even compared coming out of the corners, onto the backstretch, as something similar to a rollercoaster – they don’t call it the ‘Monster Mile’ for nothing.”
