No. 26 Group One Thousand One Honda

“The last pre-season test is behind us now and I couldn’t be more excited for St. Pete. We’ve made big strides in the Group One Thousand One car over the last couple months and I feel ready to show what we can do on the streets and start our 2018 campaign. I can’t thank everyone at Group One Thousand One, Andretti and my crew enough for the effort they put in over the winter all in preparation for this weekend!”

No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda

“I’m really happy to finally get the season started. Our fight for the championship starts in St. Pete and we’re really hungry to start collecting points. We have continuity that we haven’t necessarily had going into the season opener, with my engineer, crew and strategist all being the same. We have grown to work well together and I think our chemistry will set us apart and help us rise to the top. Hopefully, we’ll have the NAPA AUTO PARTS car on the top step of the podium Sunday afternoon.”

No. 28 DHL Honda

“We’ve been counting down the days until we could get the DHL Honda back on track and now we’re finally ready to get the 2018 season started.  The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Pete is one of my favorite races of the year.  It’s my home race and you really can’t beat the track layout or the setting. I’ve been on the podium four times at St. Pete, all second and third place finishes, so we really want to win this year.”

No. 98 Ruoff Home Mortgage / Curb Honda

“I’m really excited to get the season started. It’s the first time we’ll be racing the new car and this car is much more compatible to my racing style then the car we’ve had the past few years. St. Pete always means a fresh start and I have complete confidence in my crew and the No. 98 Ruoff Home Mortgage / Curb Honda to give it all we’ve got and kick the year off right.”

  • Colton Herta earned his first Indy Lights win on the streets of St. Petersburg last year after starting from pole for Race 2.

No. 27 CDMX Mazda

“Testing has been great the past couple months, and now it’s time for the first race of the season! I am definitely ready, and I am really looking forward to getting on track. St. Pete is a track I really enjoy racing at, so I’m looking forward to making more good memories like the past couple of years! LET’S GO RACING!”

No. 28 K-Line Insulators, USA Mazda

“Going into St. Pete at the start of the season is always a great feeling. It’s definitely one of my favorite events of the year. I think it’s an awesome place for us to start the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season. We’ve been working really hard all off season and I’m really excited to get to racing. I think we’ve made some great strides on the driving side and I’m looking forward to seeing what we have compared to our competitors. It’s going to be a very competitive year; as always, the Indy Lights field is very deep, and I think it’s going to provide some very exciting racing for us and the fans.”

No. 48 Journey Mazda

“I’m really excited to start the racing season at St. Petersburg. I absolutely love this track and all the fans at this event. It’s a very challenging track but with the experience I’ve gained over last race season, I think I will be able to handle the task at hand. We’ve been working very hard over the off season and I think we will be strong competitors here.”

No. 98 Andretti-Steinbrenner Racing / Curb Mazda

“I’m super excited for the opening round in St. Pete to begin. I think we have a better car this year and I’m even more prepared to tackle it this weekend.”
