Chase Elliott is the newest Sunoco Rookie of the Year in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Elliott qualified for the Chase and finished 10th in points in 2016 after taking over the No. 24 at Hendrick Motorsports for Jeff Gordon. Elliott is a two-time Most Popular Driver winner in the XFINITY Series, where he won Sunoco Rookie of the Year and the championship in 2014. He also has five career wins in that series and two wins in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
