Motor SpeedwayNEMCO Motorsports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway … This weekend will mark NEMCO Motorsports’ fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at the Las Vegas, Nev., facility. The organization posted a team best fourth-place finish at the track with driver John Hunter Nemechek on October 3, 2015. Three starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval speedway have earned NEMCO Motorsports an average starting position of 16.7 and an average finish of 12.3.
NEMCO Motorsports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History … Since entering the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 1995, the Mooresville, N.C.,-based organization has logged 121 starts from five drivers, resulting in strong performances that include six victories (Watkins Glen, Chicago, Atlanta, Canada, Gateway, and Iowa) and 27 top-five finishes, as well as 55 top-10 finishes, with an average starting position of 14.1 and an average finishing position of 13.7.
Collective NEMCO Motorsports … In this season’s first 17 events, NEMCO Motorsports’ two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries have posted two victories (Gateway and Iowa), eight top-five and nine top-10 finishes. The NEMCO Motorsports-prepared Chevrolet Silverados have completed 2,719 laps and have lead 92 of those laps. John Hunter Nemechek and Joe Nemechek rank eighth and 26th respectively in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver points.
All in the Family … Team owner Joe Nemechek has found success in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) at the “ Diamond in the Desert,” with one win (2003), five top-five and seven top-10 finishes in 15 starts. In 15 starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Nemechek is credited with two top-10 finishes in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS). Additionally, Nemechek has one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing in the 17th-place in 2014. John Nemechek is credited with one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Las Vegas facility, finishing in the 27th-place in 1996.

This Week’s NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 041 in the Las Vegas 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Texas Motor Speedway on June 9, where they finished in the 21st-place after starting in the eighth-place. In the chassis’ eight starts at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, Michigan International Speedway and the Homestead-Miami Speedway with Nemechek, the chassis has an average finishing position of 14.6.
Weekend Warriors …. NEMCO Motorsports has an updated crew roster for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Returning to the NEMCO Motorsports team is spotter Ron Lewis, who spotted for John Hunter Nemechek at the Gateway Motorsports Park and at the Iowa Speedway. In addition, jackman Michael Marks, who was part of the victorious crew at the Gateway Motorsports Park, returns for the weekend. Corey Quick joins the team for the first time as the front tire changer.
Viva Las Vegas … This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s third Las Vegas Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 15.5 and an average finishing position of 10.0 at the 1.5-mile track. Nemechek has collected one top-five and one top-10 finish. He made his track debut on October 3, 2015.
Speedway Stats: In 36 combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded three victories (Chicago, Atlanta and Gateway), 11 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes. He has led for a total of 155 laps on NASCAR’s speedway tracks.
Race Rewind: Las Vegas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 16th-place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series DC Solar 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 1, 2016. Nemechek began the 146-lap race around the 1.5-mile track from the 15th-place in the 31-truck field. Nemechek had climbed up to the 13th–place by Lap 50 while battling ill-handling conditions, before ultimately finishing in the 16th-place.
In the Rearview Mirror: New Hampshire Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, scored a 20th-place finish the UNOH 175 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, September 23, at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Nemechek started in the 14th-position in the 29-truck field. On Lap 32 of the 175-lap race around the 1.058-mile track known as the “Magic Mile,” Nemechek dropped out of the top-10 and onto pit road after reporting a vibration to crew chief Gere Kennon. On Lap 40 Nemechek was scored in the 18th-place and one lap down. As the issue continued, Kennon made the decision to take the 20-year old behind the wall and into his garage stall on Lap 46, where crewmen went to work on Nemechek’s No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc. Chevrolet Silverado. The rear-end gear was swapped out for a new one, as it sidelined Nemechek for 36 laps, and he returned to the track in the 23rd-place, and salvaging a 20th-place finish.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs … With his win at the Gateway Motorsports Park on June 17, John Hunter Nemechek claimed NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoff eligibility with a victory during the regular season. Nemechek is eighth in the Round of 8 Playoff standings with 14 playoff points.
Season-to-date … Through the first 17 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2017 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2209 of 2560 laps contested (86.3 percent) and has led 92 laps. Nemechek is currently eighth in the driver point standings and eighth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner points. In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has collected two victories (Gateway and Iowa), seven top-five and eight top-10 finishes, has spent 1,568 laps running in the top 15 and has made 466 green-flag passes thus far this season.
