  • Will Power won the pole for Sunday’s Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, the third of 17 races on the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule in 2017.
  • This is Power’s second Verizon P1 Pole Award of the 2017 season having won at the season opener at St. Petersburg.
  • The pole is the 46th of his INDYCAR career (6 CC/40 IRL/IC), placing him fifth on the all-time poles lists. He is two away from tying his Team Penske teammate, Helio Castroneves, for fourth all-time.
  • 40 of those career poles have come as a Team Penske driver.
  • It is Power’s fourth Verizon P1 Pole Award at Barber Motorsports Park with the others coming in 2010, 2011 and 2014.
  • This is the seventh pole for Team Penske in eight all-time events at Barber (Power – 4, Castroneves – 2, Simon Pagenaud – 1)
  • Team Penske has won all three poles this season and 15 of 19 poles dating back to last year.
  • Team Penske won poles in both the Verizon IndyCar Series and Virgin Australia Supercars Championship with Scott McLaughlin taking the honors for Saturday’s Phillip Island race.
  • Power, Castroneves and Pagenaud will start 1-2-3 in Sunday’s Indy Grand Prix of Alabama while McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard started 1-2 in Australia.
  • This is the 248th Verizon IndyCar Series pole win in the history of Team Penske and the 515th pole for the organization overall.
