The organization posted a victory with John Hunter Nemechek on February 27, 2016. Two starts at the 1.54-mile quad-oval have earned NEMCO Motorsports an average starting position of 12.5 and an average finish of 5.5.
NEMCO Motorsports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History … Since entering the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 1995, the Mooresville, N.C.,-based organization has logged 95 starts from five drivers, resulting in strong performances that include four victories (Watkins Glen, Chicago, Atlanta and Canada) and 21 top-five finishes, as well as 48 top-10 finishes with an average starting position of 13.9 and an average finishing position of 12.1.
Georgia Peach … Truck chief Michael Buckner hails from Conyers, and a graduate of Rockdale County High School. Buckner’s racing career began as a mechanic at Gresham Motorsports Park and Lanier National Speedway. Atlanta Motor Speedway is a homecoming to communications director Courtney McGarry. This Week’s NEMCO Motorsports’ Chevrolet Silverado at the Atlanta Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 041 in the Active Pest Control 200 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis during the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 18, 2016, where they finished in the 11th-place after starting in the sixth-place. In the chassis’ six previous-season starts at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, Michigan International Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway with Nemechek, the chassis has an average finishing position of 11.16.

Race Rewind: Atlanta Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek maneuvered his way through various battles, holding off competitors in a two-lap dash to the checkered flag to win the Great Clips 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 27, 2016. Nemechek started from the 18th position and led for eight laps en route to his first victory in his first-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Nemechek, who was 18 years, 8 months and 16 days old, became the youngest NASCAR national series winner at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In the Rearview Mirror: Daytona International Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the fourth-position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 24. Nemechek started the 100-lap event from the 19th-place and was involved in a multi-truck incident on Lap 3. He battled his way through the 32-truck field before being involved in a single-truck incident on Lap 96. John Hunter Nemechek drove through the last-lap melee with father Joe Nemecheck just at his back bumper, finishing in the fourth place.

The Jim Mazza-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis during the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season at the Texas Motor Speedway on June 5, 2015. Nemechek finished in the sixth-place after starting in the 10th-place in the chassis’ second appearance of the 2015 season. In the chassis’ four starts during the 2014 and 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season at the Texas Motor Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the Michigan International Speedway, it has an average finishing position of 7.25. Only Joe Nemechek has been behind the wheel of chassis No. 39.
Welcome to Atlanta … This weekend marks Joe Nemechek’s third Atlanta Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Lakeland, Fla., driver has earned an average starting position of 7.0 and an average finishing position of 22.5. Nemechek made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series track debut on October 28, 2006. Nemechek has one win (2001), two top-five and six top-10 finishes in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 15 starts at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Nemechek also has 38 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts which include a second-place finish in 2002.

Race Rewind: Atlanta Motor Speedway … Joe Nemechek drove NEMCO Motorsports’ No. 8 SWM International Inc. Chevrolet Silverado to a 10th-place finish in the 130-lap NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 28, 2015. The NEMCO Motorsports driver posted a seventh-place effort in the Keystone Light Pole Qualifying, as Nemechek was one of the drivers who did not post an official time in the final round of qualifying for the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200. With less than 32 laps to go, Nemechek was forced to make a trip down pit road to change four tires over concerns of a right-rear flat tire. It caused the NEMCO Motorsports team to be scored in 13th position by Lap 100. Nemechek gained three spots throughout the closing laps before ultimately finishing in 10th-place.
In the Rearview Mirror: Daytona International Speedway … Joe Nemechek, driver of the No. 87 Fleetwing Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the fifth-position the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 24. Three race stages were split into 20, 20, and 60 lap segments, as Nemechek earned an additional 18 points from strong performance and positions at the close of the first and second stages. A four-truck incident on Lap 72 would impact Nemechek. Nemechek’s son, John Hunter Nemechek, would be the beneficiary of the “Lucky Dog” under the fourth caution flag of the night. Miraculously, Nemechek slipped through a wild incident on the backstretch on the final lap of the NextEra Energy Resources 250 to finish fifth.
