Korbin Forrister is geared up to head to his hometown track, Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) to pilot the No. 5 Advanced Medical Laboratories Wauters Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Toyota Tundra in the running of the Active Pest Control 200 Saturday, March 4th.
The Cedartown, GA native is slated to make his second start on the 1.54-mile Hampton, GA track. Forrister’s first start at AMS was in 2015, where he posted a 20th place finish.
Forrister and Wauters Motorsports are coming off a 20th place finish in the NCWTS season opener after the No. 5 Advanced Medical Laboratories Tundra was caught up in an accident at Daytona International Speedway while running in the 11th place position.
“I am so excited to be running at Atlanta this weekend,” Korbin Forrister said. “I’ve had one start prior but I was in nowhere near the equipment that I am driving now, so it’s going to be kind of new to me. I’ve been studying tape and past races to get myself ready for the weekend. I have notes from when I ran a couple years ago as to where the bumps were and the overall feeling of the track. I’m really looking forward putting last weekend behind us. We had such a good run going, but plate racing means there is always a chance of getting tore up. Hopefully, this weekend I can get Richie’s (Wauters) truck up front and have a top finish for the team and Advanced Medical Laboratories!”
Team owner, Richie Wauters has had vast success as a crew chief at AMS, leading the team to four wins, six top-five, eight top-10 finishes and one pole position start on the Hampton, GA track.
Advanced Medical Laboratories will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 5 Toyota Tundra. Georgia will be heavily represented with Wauters Motorsports associate sponsors: All Secure Document Disposal Company, Billy Ballew Motorsports LLC Daytona Beach & Blairsville, GA, DJ Flint, TwinMed, and Woodard Pools in Waycross, GA.
The Active Pest Control 200 NCWTS race is slated for 4:30 pm Saturday, March 4th and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Channel 90. Practice on Friday, March 3rd will also be televised live on Fox Sports 1 at 11am, 2:30pm and 4:30pm.
