Jeff Meendering will oversee the full-time foray with Stewart-Haas Racing’s new Xfinity Series team in 2017.

Meendering, 39, started his career at Hendrick Motorsports. After 11 seasons, he was promoted to car chief on the No. 24 team under crew chief Steve Letarte and driver Jeff Gordon. Meendering filled in as a crew chief during Letarte’s suspension on the No. 24 car with Jeff Gordon at Hendrick Motorsports in 2007.

The following season “Jabo” took over crew chief duties on the No. 43 Petty Enterprises entry with Bobby Labonte.

In 2009, Meendering joined Stewart-Haas Racing. He was the car chief on the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing team and was with Tony Stewart for his final championship run in 2011.

Most recently, Meendering was the car chief on the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team with Matt Kenseth and crew chief Jason Ratcliff.

Custer will pilot the No. 00, just as he has in the Camping World Truck Series. In 42 CWTS starts, he’s scored two victories (Loudon 2014, Gateway 2015) and ended the 2016 season tenth in the championship standings.

Earlier this year, he made five appearances in the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports, finishing as high as fourth at Charlotte in May.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
