Garrett Smithley finished 34th in Saturday night’s Ticket Galaxy 200, the next-to-last Xfinity Series race of the season.

The race was held at Phoenix International Raceway, where Smithley finished 31st earlier in the season.

“It was a tough night for us,” said Smithley, who drove the ETC Custom Truck Accessories/Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ Chevrolet. “It’s hard to race from the back at a track like Phoenix, and it was tough going. Then we got nailed in the accident.”

Smithley parked his Chevy after being involved in a five-car accident on the frontstretch with 50 laps to go.

Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch won the race.

The Xfinity Series season is scheduled to end with a Nov. 19 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. Justin Allgaier, Daniel Suarez, Elliott Sadler and Erik Jones will compete for the Xfinity championship in that event.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
