Ryan Preece Gathered Up A 13th Place Finish At Kansas

Garrett Smithley & Ross Chastain

Ross Chastain piloted the CarShield Chevrolet to a 13th-place finish in Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 Xfinity Series race at Kansas Speedway.

Chastain, finishing on the lead lap, scored one of his best finishes of the season despite being involved in a couple of accidents. He also was involved in a strange incident when Ryan Preece, his JD Motorsports with Gary Keller teammate, lost a shock absorber on his car and the piece landed in the grille of Chastain’s car.

“That’s more like the kind of finish we’re looking for,” Chastain said of the eventful afternoon. “We had a really strong car today. We definitely can build from this.”

Chastain stayed 16th in Xfinity driver points.

Kyle Busch won the race. Daniel Suarez and Elliott Sadler are tied atop the point standings as the first Xfinity Chase continues.

The next Xfinity race is scheduled Nov. 5 at Texas Motor Speedway. After Texas, races at Phoenix and Homestead, Fla. will complete the season.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
