Michael McDowell Excited To Back Behind The Wheel At Charlotte

Circle Sport – Leavine Family Racing (CSLFR) is excited to be returning to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 this weekend, as multiple members of the team have past racing experience there. Michael McDowell will once again pilot the team’s No. 95 Thrivent Financial Chevrolet SS this weekend.

McDowell is excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 95 Chevrolet SS after fellow CSLFR driver, Ty Dillon, took over for last week’s Citizen Soldier 400 at Dover International Speedway.

“Charlotte is definitely a busy race week at home as there’s always a lot happening,” said McDowell. “I’m excited about this weekend as we are bringing a newer generation racecar to the track, so we’re definitely looking for improvement in our performance. Hopefully the updates we’re doing will help us at Charlotte.”

Multiple members of the CSLFR crew are looking forward to returning to the place they used to race as kids before they began working in the sport professionally. Crew members including Dave Winston, Wesley Falk, and Willy Evernham Jr. all competed at Charlotte Motor Speedway for various events, including the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout, a ten-week series that takes place throughout the summer months.

“I used to love racing at Charlotte as a part of the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout, as well as pole day,” said CSLFR shock specialist, Willy Evernham Jr. “Many of my friends and family worked on Sprint Cup cars when I was younger, so it was fun to walk around the garage as a kid and see all the drivers I looked up to. I really felt like I was part of the ‘big show’.”

CSLFR is also excited to unveil a brand new Thrivent Financial paint scheme for the No. 95 Chevrolet SS while competing under the lights for the Bank of America 500. This paint scheme will be a fresh take on the team’s popular paint scheme featured in the majority of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season.

The Bank of America 500 will take place on Saturday, October 8 at 7:00 P.M. ET. Race fans can tune-in to NBC for live coverage and follow @CSLFR95 on Twitter for race updates.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
