Quotes

Cole Custer: “I am looking forward to my first visit to Kentucky this weekend. We ran very well at Kansas and some of the other 1.5-mile tracks in the Haas Automation Chevrolet Silverado, and now that Marcus (Richmond, crew chief) and I have had a couple of races together, we can improve on that. We’ve had a little time to get the Truck where we want it to be. Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be a good challenge, and we’ve done really well in our first two starts. Even though I’ve never raced at Kentucky before, I’ll have a lot of laps to learn from this weekend.”

Notes

  • In his first season of competing on 1.5-mile ovals in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Custer has an average finish of 12.8 at Atlanta, Kansas, Charlotte and Texas. Best finish of seventh came at Kansas in May.
  • Over his last three NCWTS races, Custer has averaged a 10th -place finish and moved to 12th in the point standings, 54 out of the lead.
  • This weekend’s event at Kentucky will be Custer’s first in any series on the 1.5-mile oval.
  • Custer is 19 markers out of eighth in points, which is the cutoff for the inaugural Chase for the NCWTS.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
