Cole Custer: “I’m ready to get back on the track at Kansas and get some positive results. We’ve been fast all three races so far this year, but we haven’t been able to put a whole race together at the same time. I can’t wait to get back in the Haas Automation Chevy Silverado and see if we can put everything together for a good finish. We know we have the performance; we just have to make it all work together to get a top-five or top-10 finish.”
- Friday’s race will mark Cole Custer’s first start at Kansas Speedway in any series.
- The 18-year-old has competed on one other 1.5-mile track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He qualified sixth and finished 17th at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this season.
- Custer is still seeking his first NCWTS top-10 finish this season. He experienced misfortune in races at Martinsville and in the season opener at Daytona. Custer drove a damaged Silverado to 17th -place effort at Atlanta.
- Crew chief Joe Shear Jr. has a great record at Kansas, winning in 2010 and earning top-five finishes in 2011 and 2013 with driver Johnny Sauter.
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
