NTS Motorsports announces that Rico Abreu will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut at Phoenix International Raceway, piloting the #31 AccuDoc Solutions Chevy Silverado. Pending NASCAR approval, Abreu also will be behind the wheel of the #31 in the 2015 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Abreu, the 2014 USAC Midget National Champion and three-time World of Outlaws winner, began this season by winning the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Okla. He then embarked on a full-time effort in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) driving for HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks while still competing nationally in a midget and winged sprint car. The 23-year-old earned his first NKNPSE win at Columbus Motor Speedway in July, ultimately finishing fifth in the 2015 standings with one win, three poles, four top-five and eight top-10 finishes in his first year of stock car racing.
So next weekend Rico embarks on another new frontier, the Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix. I will be very interested to watch this young man compete next week at PIR.
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
